RULES PRIMER
Everything we know
Last updated Oct 28, 2026.
A working file, not a rulebook. Confirmed items are on a public page we link. Reported items are attendee notes from the SPIEL Essen 2026 demos. Speculation is our read of a gap, marked so it cannot be mistaken for either. Names of the game and the companies are used only to identify them. The longer writeup is What we learned from the SPIEL Essen 2026 demos.
Overview
- ConfirmedBEYBLADE X Blader League is a trading card game, marked coming in 2027. Publisher site
- ConfirmedIt is set in the Beyblade X universe and is marketed as play without mana. Publisher site
- ConfirmedFull mechanics were promised for the beginning of 2027, after a European Toy Fair briefing. 6 Oct 2026 note
- ConfirmedIt debuted at SPIEL Essen on 22 October 2026, Hall 5, Stand 5A215, with a public playtest. Essen announcement
- ReportedAttendees say the design is not trying to copy a physical Beyblade match one for one. AlienKatze notes
Components
Beys, Bladers, and Avatars are the names the publisher uses. Attendees used a second set.
- ConfirmedThe named card types are Beys, Bladers, and Avatars. 6 Oct 2026 note
- ReportedFriends who played described each seat as a Blade plus a Character, which may be those types under other words. Terravist
- ReportedA Blader is described with passives and a signature ability, and the Bey is described as sitting in a stance. AlienKatze notes
- SpeculationNeither attendee account says what an Avatar does at the table. The publisher named the type and stopped there. Terravist, and the AlienKatze post
How a round works
- ReportedA round auto-plays the top card of the deck. The phrase used is that the Bey has a mind of its own. Terravist
- ReportedActions then resolve one at a time. Both players compete on power, and crossing a threshold causes a burst that ends the round. Terravist
- ReportedA clash starts with that same automatic top-deck, called the will of the Bey. When both players pass, or someone hits the threshold, the highest force wins the clash. AlienKatze notes
- ReportedYou play force cards or activate cards already in play. Activations are gated by stance. Effects can rotate the Bey 90 degrees, or you can discard to change stance. AlienKatze notes
- ReportedRight-spin and left-spin were both in the test games. Terravist
- ConfirmedNone of this procedure is in a publisher rulebook. Mechanics were deferred to early 2027. 6 Oct 2026 note
Stances
- ReportedOne demo account uses four names: Attack, Stamina, Defence, and Balance. Terravist
- ReportedThe other uses Guard, Dash, and Spin or Stability. AlienKatze notes
- SpeculationThose lists may be the same positions under different words, or they may be different. We do not know. Stance is stored as free text so the label can change without a schema migration. Our Essen report
Winning
- ReportedAttack wins were described as knockouts, and Stamina wins as deckouts. Terravist
- ReportedA different account says you win by collecting five trophy cards, earned by dealing more force than the opponent. AlienKatze notes
- SpeculationKnockouts, deckouts, and trophy cards may be one system described twice, or two systems. The posts do not reconcile them. Both attendee posts
Release and products
- ConfirmedThe published window is 2027. No day-level date is on the publisher pages. Publisher site
- SpeculationOne attendee writeup guesses around October 2027. That is a guess, not a date. AlienKatze notes
- ConfirmedNo official card fronts, price, product lineup, or rulebook have been posted. Publisher site and the October posts
- ReportedRare cards are said to use art by the original manga artist, and sets are said to follow half-seasons of the anime. No art is shown here. AlienKatze notes
- ReportedHub names the partners as T-Licensing, Creative Live Games, and ADK Emotions, and the operator as Creative Toys in Portugal. Hub also credits LOBA for the website and doubts that LOBA developed the game. Beyblade Hub
Organized play
- ConfirmedRetailer and distributor early access covers allocations, organized play, and in-store events. 10 Oct 2026 note
- ConfirmedSPIEL included a public "Spin to Begin!" playtest, with the designers on the stand. Essen announcement
- ReportedThe demo table used a stadium-style playmat, miniature Bey pieces, and prototype cards. We link the post and do not host the photo. Terravist's table photo
Open questions
- ConfirmedThe publisher has not published the procedure for a round, a burst, or a win. 6 Oct 2026 note
- ReportedStance names already disagree, including Defence versus the Guard / Dash / Spin set. Both attendee posts
- SpeculationPrice, SKUs, and the exact 2027 date are blank because the official pages are blank, not because we are withholding them. Publisher site
- Speculation"Speed, power and intensity" is marketing copy, not a printed stat line. We are not filing it as card data. A misread promo post
